About Scott Stockman
Scott grew up in a family full of crazed but benevolent siblings. Raised number nine in a family of ten, his older hippie brothers (who attended Woodstock) rocked with their band in the attic above the kitchen while he sat grounded beneath the 2nd story window and soaked it all in. When they were away, he would sneak into the attic to play the ‘68 Gibson SG that his brother warned him not to touch. At the age of 17, he bought his first good acoustic guitar with the help of a friend who co-signed a loan from The Money Store famously hawked by ex-Yankee shortstop Phil Rizzuto. After high school Scott performed for years as a street musician in NYC and Nantucket MA while carving out a niche as a solo artist in the local club circuit near Albany NY. He has performed at night clubs and festivals throughout the Midwest, NYC, U.S. Virgin Islands and Bermuda as a member of The Sun Mountain Band and Yellowfish. Scott has a passionate vocal style and a driving percussive attack on acoustic guitar that mixes many musical genres. He performs primarily solo acoustic, but you can often find him sharing the stage with a diverse array of amazing and talented musicians performing covers and originals.
